The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer stories. With the character Batman DC Comics, the film is the third and last part of the movie Nolan Batman trilogy, and is a continuation of The Dark Knight (2008). Christian Bale reprises the lead role of Bruce Wayne / Batman, with a cast of returning Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as James Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, and Cillian Murphy as Dr. Jonathan Crane Michael. The film consists of two main characters series Nolan: Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway), a cat burglar, whose appearance in Gotham City allocates a chain of events that leads Batman to retire, and Bane (Tom Hardy), a mercenary, which aims destroy Gotham with thermonuclear weapons.
Christopher Nolan was initially hesitant about returning to the series for the second time, but decided to come back after developing the story with his brother and Goyer that he felt conclude the series with a passing grade. Nolan drew inspiration from comic books Bane Knightfall first story in 1993, the 1986 series The Dark Knight Returns, and the history of 1999 in no man’s land. Filming took place in several locations, including Jodhpur, London, Nottingham, Glasgow, Los Angeles, New York, Newark and Pittsburgh. Nolan used IMAX cameras for much of the filming to optimize image quality, including the first six minutes of the film. Changing Bat plane called “The Bat”, a set of underground prison, and a new set Bat cave were created specifically for the film. Like The Dark Knight, viral marketing campaigns began early in production to help promote. When filming concluded, Warner Bros re-focused its campaign, the development of promotional websites, releasing the first six minutes of the film and trailers, sending random pieces of information about the plot of the film for a few companies.
The Dark Knight Rises premiere in New York on 16 July 2012. The film was released in Australia and New Zealand on July 19, 2012  and in North America and the UK 20 July 2012. The film received positive reviews and grossed over $ 1.07 billion worldwide. The Dark Knight Rises is currently the seventh highest-grossing film of all time and the second highest-grossing film of 2012.
